Lift Up Thine Eyes

Submitted by Andy Marshall on January 12, 2009 – 2:08 pmNo Comment

You know how it is.

Sometimes you just can’t find inspiration from your surroundings – you’re feeling flat and uninspired.

I felt the same during a visit to a church in Manchester, so I latched on to a sermon being broadcast over the speaker system.

“Lift Up Thine Eyes Unto Heaven…!”

I took Deuteronomy’s advice and there it was: a marvellous ceiling scape which had been unexplored during my numerous visits.

There are many plane’s and axes to a building yet it seems that the least recognised is the ceiling or those elements above the eye line.

Be warned: knowing this revelation can be a hazard. Walking into lamp posts or columns can be a side effect for the newbie ceilingscaper.

Broken nose aside, here are a few of my images taken whilst craning my neck to the stars.
