Be2camp Award
On Wednesday I found out that I had won the Be2camp Award for best AEC use of photo/video content.
My real involvement with photography and social media started with flickr many years ago. It was from flickr that I experienced the deep satisfaction of being able to interact with others in a visual way.
Since then I have extended my work out into other social media spheres such as Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and Foursquare.
I recall somebody saying that they thought they knew the secret to my success – great photography combined with ‘being an early adopter in social media‘.
But the real reason comes from a life-long ‘need’ to share my world view of architecture with others.
I remember a young lad of 8 years old – stood outside a flax mill in his own town – sketching a silver lining to the dark silhouetted forms of the chimney stacks.
Shortly after he finished his sketch – he felt the need to show others and share the visual wonderment of what he had seen.
That young lad was me – and nothing has changed since then.
Sincere thanks for all your support.
