About Google Earth

Here we have expertly compiled in the Google Earth format a growing series of architectural maps of various locations with links to images - more information

Google Earth is a remarkable program which enables you to view detailed satellite maps of any place on earth. Placemarks can be added (including images and links) to enhance or educate. Google Earth is free and can be downloaded here.

Hints and Tips Sample Images

1. To view the architectural map you can either double click the downloaded kmz icon, or you can open Google Earth and go to 'File' and then 'Open'.

2. Once you have your map open, you should be able to see it in the 'Places' box. You can choose to view all buildings by clicking the folder at the top of the tree. Alternatively you can choose only individual buildings, or those buildings in a themed sub-folder.

3. Click a building 'Placemark' to view further information including a photograph of the building. I have installed links to other images and information. The images are all stock images with Alamy.com and therefore are available for download 24/7 for licensed or royalty free use.

4. Here's a cool tip. Try clicking the 'Play' icon in the bottom right hand corner of the 'Places' box. You will be given a movie style tour of all of the buildings on show.
